This system is mainly used to transfer music or voice over long distances. In a line array, several speakers are stacked in a horizontal plane. The speakers produce sound under a certain angle, and when calculated and hung correctly, making it possible to generate an equal sound-pressure throughout the venue. The need of turning up the volume to maximum in order to reach the back of the venue is with the line-array technology obsolete.
