LED walls are used on locations where there is too much influence from other lightsources (e.g. the sun) thus making projection near to impossible. LED walls, due to their high contrast and lightintensity, are not influenced by other lightsources. Also, if projection distance is not available, LED walls are a good alternative.
LED walls are modular square tiles (most 1 mtr x 1 mtr or 50 cm x 50 cm) that can be stacked upon each other. When it comes to screensize and resolutions, in theory, the only limitation is your imagination!
The image is generated from many red, green and blue LEDs (light emitting diodes) which are controlled by an electronic control system. The pixelpitch (distance between the LED's) depends on how much space there is available between the screen and the audience.
Nowadays, more and more screens with a pixelpitch of less then 6mm are available on the market. This makes LED walls available for indoor use, because a smaller viewing distance is required.
